Can Edgewater care for residents who utilize wheelchairs and walkers? |
Yes, we can assist residents who utilize wheelchairs, walkers and other ambulatory assistance devices. We provide as little or as much assistance as necessary to enable participation in all aspects of our activities program and daily living activities.

| Can Edgewater care for residents who are incontinent? |
Yes, we provide toileting schedules for residents who experience incontinence as well as partial and complete assistance with incontinence care products. Regularly scheduled showers and personal hygiene assistance is also available. In addition, we assist residents in the care of permanent catheters.

| Can Edgewater care for the confused resident suffering from Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia? |
Yes, although we are not an Alzheimer's facility, but do incorporate residents with dementia into our resident programs. Attentive staff, in cooperation with your physician at Edgewater provides personalized care plans designed to promote quality of life for individuals with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia in a smaller, more positive environment. We also offer the security of a code alert system for those residents who wander.

| Can Edgewater provide meals for individuals with special dietary needs? |
Yes, a variety of special diets are available at Edgewater, including no added salt, no concentrated sweets, finger foods, soft or pureed. Special nutritional supplements can be given to residents needing additional calories or vitamins.

| Can Edgewater care for the resident who needs physical therapy, dressing changes or other skilled needs? |
Yes, Edgewater works with Home Health agencies to meet the physical, occupational or speech therapy needs of our residents. We can offer assistance in selecting an agency if needed. Please see the Administrator for specific details.

| Can Edgewater care for depressed or emotionally needy residents? |
Yes, social interaction, positive surroundings, personal support, and caring staff members can assist with resident well being. Continued support from family and friends is helpful during this sometimes difficult period of transition or loss of a loved one.

| What evacuation plans do you have in place? |
| In case of a necessary evacuation, our residents are moved to the Clearwater, Florida LaQuinta Inn. <- Click here for a view of this facility. |
